Physicians' Clinic of Iowa Announces Iowa City Expansion
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI), East Central Iowa’s largest independent medical group, today announced a new urology clinic in Iowa City. The new location will provide specialty urology care services for residents of Johnson County and surrounding communities.
Under the new name of PCI Corridor Urology, long-serving community physicians Margaret Ekroth, MD, and Luke Brunkhorst, DO, will see patients at their new facility at 2557 N. Dodge Street in Iowa City. “The addition of these two outstanding physicians offer PCI the perfect opportunity to expand specialized urology care into one of the fastest growing regions in Iowa,” said Eric Dalton, PCI’s Chief Executive Officer. “More importantly, the central location will provide convenient access for residents to continue to get valuable urology services they need, close to home.”
The N. Dodge Street location is shared with Larew Internal Medicine (LIM), which has been at that address since 2019. Doug Laird, Skogman Commercial Real Estate Group, represented PCI and LIM in finalizing the agreement.
Urology health is important for both men and women, in all age groups. Urologists treat many disorders, such as urinary incontinence, kidney stones, prostate cancer, sexual dysfunction and more.
A graduate of Des Moines University, Dr. Brunkhorst specializes in the treatment of urologic cancers, enlarged prostate, kidney stones and overactive bladder. “Joining with PCI to launch PCI Corridor Urology will allow me to continue the personalized care that I’ve worked hard to achieve as a community urologist for more than 10 years,” he said. “I strive to be easily accessible and try to provide very personalized care that can only be found in a community-based health setting.”
Dr. Ekroth, who earned her medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, specializes in incontinence, bladder and kidney stones, enlarged prostate treatment and treatment of urologic cancers. “PCI consistently focuses on high quality, efficient care. Joining this organization to create PCI Corridor Urology will give myself and my partner the resources to provide the best expert urology care in the Iowa City – Cedar Rapids corridor.”
PCI Corridor Urology officially opens its doors to patients March 25. Make an advance appointment by calling (319) 359-1286.
